Christmas Traditions!

We all have our Christmas Traditions. Most we got as a child and were passed down from generation to generation.

Mine are simple ones. Baking cookies, Christmas Eve church to celebrate the birth of Jesus! Watching old Christmas movies, riding around see the Christmas lights. My favorite since I was a young child was riding around to see the Christmas lights. My uncle Joe use to pack the family in the car and we drove all over Norfolk Virginia to see the lights and Norfolk had some awesome displays. I did this with my children when they were little. We lived in Scranton Pennsylvania and we drove all over and went to places like pool supply place that would have all these decorated trees. Now I do it with Leigh and we found Orange City had the best we have seen. Next was the light display at the Town Center at Palm Coast and Ormond Beach on and around Beach Street has some nice ones.

The traditions keep Christmas alive even when you are alone, all the kids gone. Christmas spirit stays in your heart when you enjoy these things.

Friends gathering at Rossi's on the beach

friends gather for a fun night of karaoke at Rossi's.

Karaoke at Rossi's on the Beach

Well Leigh has found a place he can sing to his heart's content. Rossi's at the beach. They have karaoke evry Tuesday and Thursday nights. And I mean to tell you they have some really good singers. The lady who run the Karaoke is Julie. She is an awesome singer and she puts everyone else at ease.

The food is good at Rossi's and all the people are very friendly. I think our Tuesdays and Thursday will probably be spent there. We have made some great friends there. Life in Flagler is getting better.

Lighthouse at Ponce Inlet Florida!

We have been having a lot of rain so Leigh and I had not gone on a Harley ride for awhile. But Sunday the weather was wonderful so we took off for a ride to Ponce Inlet to see the lighthouse.
The lighthouse and outer building was very interesting if you like lighthouses. The great thing about this lighthouse was you could climb to the top. Ten stories high and 200 plus step.

We did climb to the top with short rest in between as we are not in the best of shape. The steps and railing were wet with moisture the higher you went but the steps had grids in them and the railings a paint with sand in it. So they were very safe. The view was worth the climb. We then went to eat at the Ponce Inlet Restaurant and enjoyed the view there then headed home. It was another nice adventure in Florida. Now I am planning our next adventure because Leigh will be off for 4 days at Christmas. We really do love Florida!

Christmas prep

Well I am all decorated. The holiday baking is done. The Christmas cards and packages all mailed. Now what?

My whole life Christmas has been a major event in my house. I love Christmas. I love to go to church all though advent and Christmas Eve to celebrate Christ's birthday. I love wrapping the presents and when the kids were at home seeing them rip them open. When the kids were all grown I loved seeing the grand children rip the presents open. And such fun baking with my girls and the grandchildren. Christmas was just so exciting. I miss those old Christmases, the fun and excitement of them.

Now I still bake but alone. I send the grand kids checks because they really don't like what I pick out for them. I still go to church but it is not the same as when I lived in Cape Vincent and had a really close church family.

I am really missing my Christmas spirit. Hope I get it back.

But for all of you out there I truly wish you all a very Blessed Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. God Bless and Thanks be to God!

Snorkeling in the Bahamas!

This was the highlight of our cruise. Snorkeling in the Bahamas. We were taken out pass Paradise Island to a place where we snorkeled and feed the fish. They were hundred of fish and it was so awesome to swim with them and feed them. We have never done anything like this before and it was so exciting. When we cruised back to Nassau we pasted Tiger Woods summer home, Oprah Winfred two homes one for her and one for her guest. Nicholas Cage's home and a baseball player. I think Barry Bonds. The whole trip was awesome but I will always remember swimming with the fish in clear blue waters over coral reef in the Bahamas..
