Lobster Festival Rockland Maine

Today we went to Rockland to the Lobster Festival. It wasn't what I expected they say 70,000 people visit Rockland for the Lobster Festival. We felt it was more like a big fair lobster style. The lobster was very good and we took a 2 hours cruise so I could see 2 more of Maine's Lighthouses. All in all it was a fun day and enjoyed spending it with Theresa and Joe. The sun did shine while we were there. When we got home a big storm passed through and a river was running through out campsite. But that is the weather in Maine. Thank goodness the sun did shine for the festival. God is good!

Unplanned Day!

We made an unplanned trip on my day off to Belfast Maine. We stopped off at a really neat nut shop that had everything and did some Shopping in there.

But the highlight of my trip was when I went shopping in a little shop called the Cherished Home
I found some cool things as Christmas present but my big thrill was meeting Genie Francis. Laura from General Hospital. She owned this little shop in that quaint little village in Maine. Her shop is very unique and has some really cool stuff.

My husband said I walked pass her and went upstairs to where the sales were. She has stuff in every room of the house. When I walked downstairs and she was standing there I nearly Sh-- my pants. She was so very nice and we talked General Hospital and I asked her when she was coming back. She says she wants to but the writers haven't asked her back yet and the story line is off on all this other stuff not on Luke and Laura.

She was so very nice and down to earth, and talking to her I felt I knew her my whole life. I guess I do as I have watched GH my whole life. She is Laura Spencer to me and always will be.

I remember when I was 13 and my Grandmother Katherine watch GH. I had to tell her something major that would change my life forever but she was watching GH and I had to wait till it was over to tell her. And when I was a grown woman I took my grandmother on a trip to the 1000 Island in Upstate New York and I paid an arm and a leg to stay there and take her on a boat tour and all she wanted to do was get home to GH.

Well , guess what? I am almost as bad as my grandmother was ,and meeting Genie Francis just made my day. She allowed my husband to take a picture of us together but she expressly asked me not to put that picture on the internet, So here I am wanting to post it so bad but I am not going to do it. I will honor her wish. But she did allow me to share the picture with my family and I did. Just meeting her was such an honor as General Hospital has been a big part of my life for all my life. And Laura Spencer is my favorite character with the exception of the old Mrs Quarimaine Lila. With the characters now I like Spinellie. I am so happy that my unplanned day brought such a special meeting.

After that we went into downtown Belfast and ate at the Weathervane A great place to eat on the waterfront. I would like to thank my boss Shirley for telling me about Genie's shop and Belfast a really neat village in Maine.

Tomorrow a trip to Rockland for Lobster Festival. 90 percent rain is predicted.

A Day in Arcadia National Park!

Today it rained until noon, since it was our day off we decided to get out as we have been getting so depressed with all the rain. So we headed to Bar Harbor our favorite town here in Maine and ate lunch at the Fish House on the pier because it reminds us of Finn's in Flagler. We had a Blueberry dak and had Buffalo Scallops. Boy are they to die for.

We then went into Arcadia and did the spots we didn't do the first time. Otter cliffs and the horse ranch and Jordon's pond. It was just nice to get out. We are so tired of being stuck inside the RV. I wish this rain would go away. The ride through Arcadia really lifted our spirits and we stopped on the way out of town and Bought a homemade Strawberry rubard pie from this little old lady that sells her pies out of her home. Boy was it good! So with a nice ride and good food things are good.

Christmas in July Paul Bunyan Campground Bangor ME

Christmas in July at Paul Bunyan Campground is such a special time I took a ton of pictures.
This is the one special thing I like about the campground is the fun things they do for the kids,
and everyone makes it special. The campers decorate and I mean decorate. They go all out the campground looks magical. Take time and look at the smiles on the children's faces. And look at that Santa, I think I know him. Could Santa's first name be Leigh???? It was just a fun time at the campground and a memory I will take with me forever.
