New Job

Well, we have put in a week at our new job in housekeeping. We clean 5 buildings and restrooms and showers. So far we have done 3 buildings and the restrooms we do daily. We have done windows, window blinds, mopped, dusted, vacuumed. The rooms have not been done all summer so the dirt and dust are really bad. Once we get all the rooms done it will be so much easier keeping everything cleaned. The worst has been the windows and the blinds. They have dust storms here and the dust and bugs in the creases of the windows were bad. Plus getting the windows cleaned after they were untouched for a whole 6 months has been fun. Leigh also has to hose down the side walks daily as toad and the birds poop on them daily and there are beetles and crickets on them also.
All in all it is not a bad job. After working we go and swim in the pool and hot tub. They also have a game room with 2 pool tables, card tables, shuffle board, and foos ball. There is also a gym with tread mills, weight machines, steppers and other machines. So we can really entertain ourselves while we are here. Life is good on the road.

New Home

This is our new home for 7 months as we start our job in Arizona. we are working at the Desert gardens RV Oasis, It's an high end RV park for 55 and over adults. Some of the amenities are the pool, hot tub, weight room, activity room and wood shop. As you can see life is really hard here. LOL. We start our job working tomorrow in housekeeping.
It is very hot here but the pool and the hot tub make it not so bad. They have some really nice restaurants in the area. We ate in a Greek one yesterday. Today we went to Walmart and hung around the pool. We have started to have a cocktail hour nightly. Sure helps to sleep better.
Life is good on the road.

Page's visit the Grand Canyon

These are just a couple of the pictures I took of the Grand Canyon, These pictures can't come close to what it is like being there, the height of it all , and the feeling you get seeing it all. Leigh and I went there for 2 days and covered over 50 miles and did not even see half of it all. What we saw was awesome and my bucket list on seeing the west is almost done. What we have seen here and all over so far just exceeded my expectations. if you ever get the chance to travel the west is well worth seeing. Especially all the national parks.

Zion National Park

Zion National Park was the most Diverse of the 4 national parks we visited. it had vegetation, the fatest squirrel I have ever seen in my life and the mountains we very different in each part. We also saw rock climbers there. They had great trails to walk and you could have spend days there.
We truly enjoyed all 4 parks very much. My personal favorite was Bryce and Zion was second.
Leigh thinks in the last few days we have seen enough mountains to last a lifetime. So Tomorrow we move on to the Grand Canyon and after that 6 months in the dessert of Arizona. We really are enjoying our 15 days vacation between jobs. We have seen and done a lot in a few short days.

Zion KOLOB Utah

We started our last day in Utah at the Zion Kolob. It's a small canyon of about 5 miles. What I liked about it was Lee's pass. The mountains here in Utah are really different than any place we have ever been. And each place is uniquely different here in Utah.

The Page's In Las Vegas

Well, we made the trip to Las Vegas, but not in the RV and boy are we happy we did it in a car. There was lots of construction and lots of traffic. Poor Leigh would have killed me if we went in the RV. Driving there is crazy.
Well Vegas is really something else. The temperature was around 110 degrees. They have escalators for sidewalks. You have to walk upstairs and down stairs as you walk on the sidewalks. Never saw anything like it. I was awed by the Trump Tower, all the windows are gold.
And they had gondolier rides in front of one of the casinos. It really is a place like no other.
We went to the Mirage and ate the best buffet I ever had in my life. They had 17 stations to eat from, Chinese, Greece, Italian, they had seafood, shrimp, crab legs, and tons of desserts. including Italian glottises. We eat ourselves sick then went out to gamble.
We didn't do very well in that department. I never went through money so fast in my life. We didn't spend a lot but boy did it go fast. I wanted to see a show but they were very expensive and Cher the one I really wanted to see was booked. So since we are going to be pretty close in the Phoenix area we will probably go back on a bus trip or fly there. But at least I got there and had some fun.

On the road to Las Vegas

These are the mountains in Arizona called the Virgin River Canyon. It is about 18 miles of the highest mountains that you go through on the way to Vegas. They are really something to see.

Road back to campground

These are some of the views as we took a long drive back to the campground from Bryce Canyon and what was called a scenic highway.

Bryce Canyon Utah

Bryce Canyon was the most majestic of any place we have seen so far. Joy there are hiking trails all through Bryce. Brian would love it. There are some trails that are very narrow. Leigh and I were going down one trail and I made him turn around and go back because I had a panic attack with how narrow and steep some of the trail was with no railing. The way was really something to see.
