63 wonderful years!

I can't believe I am 63 years old. it seems just yesterday I was a child playing in Norfolk, Virginia. And here I am an old lady with grown children and grandchildren.

It's been a grand ride so far with lots of ups and downs and lots of lessons learned. But life has been good to me through all those ups and downs. I have wonderful children that turned out well even though I made so many mistakes raising them. The best grandchildren I the world and a wonderful husband after I kissed all those frogs along the way.

At the moment Thanks be to God, I am living my dream of traveling and seeing all this beautiful country has to offer. My health is basically good for a woman of 63. And I am just happy to be here. I have made lots of friends along the way and been blessed with a great family. God is good. The rest is up to God. But I do know the clock of time is wound but once and we must live, love and laugh with gusto because tomorrow the clock may be still.

Venting!

I went to the doctor yesterday! I had been putting it off as since having had cancer I hate to go.
Well I had a couple of problems. One being a result of the radiation treatment I had while having my cancer.

Well to make a long story short, I had a couple of problems and may have to go to a specialist.
But what I am venting about is my insurance. I have to pay over $600.00 a month. It takes most of my husband's retirement. We have to have insurance because having had cancer before. I have to keep this insurance because of the previous condition clauses in getting new insurance.
So I payed $100.00 for the visit. Then I go to the drug store, I picked Walmart because supposedly you can get cheaper drugs. Well my bill came to $184.00. I gave them my IBM insurance card and they said I was not covered. So I paid out Almost $300.00 to go to the doctor and get medicine. Maybe for some that is no big deal, but we are retired our income is limited.
We work part-tome jobs just to be able to live. So a $300.00 unexpected medical bill puts a hurting on us. At this time of the month until our next Social Security check comes in it's like choosing between medicine or food. Yes we can go into our small saving and will have to but it is just so sad. We pay so much money for so little coverage. Why can't we who live in America have good reasonable insurance. If i am having this much problems with insurance, what do the people who can't afford any insurance do. It should not be this way in America one of the riches countries in the world.

I would love to hear comments on this subject.

Rollinghome

Not much happening today. I am just sitting in our rollinghome thinking of the places I want to go and see. They say in the world of fulltimers that is called hitch itch. When you are kind of tired of one place and ready to move on down the road.
Leigh and I talked and we are going to keep the rollinghome for altleast 2 more years unless our health does not last.
I have been working on weekends lately with Leigh to try to get money for his Harley's tires and brakes. We are almost there. Then the rest until end of April is our gas money for our next adventure to Maine.

Surfer Duds

Today was another beautiful day in Flagler Beach. Since I am working for the next two days I decided to take a day for myself. My mother-in-law went to the hospital to feed Leigh's dad and I went to the beach Book and camera in hand. So I spent the day reading and watching the surfer duds do their thing. It felt so nice to take a day all to myself to just be lazy and enjoy Florida.

Another beautiful day in Florida!

What a gorgeous day it is in Florida today. All these folks are out enjoying the beach this morning already. I only did a 4 mile walk this morning but it is just so beautiful today!
We are really loving Florida and Leigh wants to sell the Rv and just stay here. But I want to do some more traveling! I have 4 states in the west I want to see. I want to fill my map before we stop traveling with the RV. So I am hoping we can travel just a little more before we settle again.
I love this lifestyle but I guess Leigh doesn't as much as me. So I am going to put it in God's hands and pray on it. We won't put it on the market until after we go to Maine. I just want another couple of years traveling.

Whale watching!

The whale migration season has started and there has been several sighting of whales at Flagler Beach and Ormond Beach, This is a whale and her baby. Sighted at Flagler Beach. Last week there was a pod of 5 whales. Lots of people are spending time at beach with binoculars scanning the ocean. I got to see these two on my way to nursing home. It was awesome. Although I did not take these photos the guy from Marineland was there and he let me post them on my blog. Life is good in Florida. The more time I spend here the more I like it.
