Goodbye to visiting family

Well, all of the visiting family have gone home after spending time with grandpa and us. Leigh's sister had a bad experience on her way home as they got robbed while eating in Bob Evans in North Carolina. Someone broke into their car and stole her brand new computer she bought down here on black Friday. But thank God they themselves are all right and arrived home safely.

Paulie and Kathleen flew out to California yesterday and hopefully they arrived safely we haven't heard yet.

Yesterday bought some bad news for us. The job we were hoping for at Tomoka State park is not going to happen as the couple they thought would not be there are coming. They decided to wait until after their assignment they will have the surgery the husband needs.

The second bad thing was Dot, Grandpa Page's wife fell and cracked her back so we are waiting to see what the doctors are going to do about that. She is in her 80's.

Other than that life in good and this weekend we are having company. So we are looking forward to that.

The great fishermen

Today ,Carol left to go back home to Vestal New York. So this afternoon Paulie came over to spend some quality time with his uncle so the two of them set out for the fishing pier, and had a good time fishing and doing what men folk do. When they returned Paulie had a caught a small hammer head shark and a whiting. Leigh 3 whitings. That is the first time Leigh has ever caught anything off the pier so I guess that bonding with his nephew was relaxing enough for him to catch those fish.

Skip it would have been perfect if you had been here to fish to. I know how you love to fish. Maybe someday you can get down here and fish with your dad.

Anyhow, after the pictures Paulie ran back to the beach to release the shark so he can grow up. Some day this week we are having a fish fry.

Well it's December, Guess what that means?

Well here it is the 1st of December. My favorite Month. Because I know Christmas is coming. So now I am decorated for Christmas. Which doesn't take much in the RV. When I lived in our sticks and bricks home it took me and Leigh days to decorated inside and out.

I had 4 village scenes and tons of other decorations. In fact I spread my Christmas stuff around to several people. My best stuff going to my daughter Joy. And I don't think she even puts the one village up. My other daughter Theresa said she didn't want any of my Christmas stuff. My 2 sons have some special stuff. My son Sterling has my old American Flyer's and Glenn got my special nativity. Skip got Leigh's American flyer's and Greg got a village, our tree all our wreaths and some ornaments, as they bought our home and all that stuff looked good there. There was a girl at work that had no Christmas decorations so I gave her tons of stuff. I sold some in garage sale and what you see in these pictures is what is left. Except for Lights Leigh has not figured how to put up on the RV yet.

I have also addressed most of my Christmas cards and now have to come up with money for the grandchildren cards. I use to buy them presents when they were little but now that they are big they like money to get their own.

What I really am going to miss is watching the kids and grand kids opening their presents. Baking the Christmas cookies and making baskets of bake goods and fudge for the famlies. Sharing the Christmas meal together. Going to church with them the night before to hear the Christmas story and sing Christmas carols. I also am going to miss the big Christmas party we would throw when the kids were older and married on their own. Since they all wanted their Christmas at home we had a party. But the last one was not as I had wished it would be.

Now Leigh and I spend Christmas alone and eat a nice meal. We for the last two years go to nursing home to give Leigh's dad his present but I think he doesn't even know it is Christmas. That part is kinda sad. But at least we are spending it with him.

Last but not least I think of what all we have done this year. I use to write a Christmas letter.

So I guess this is my Christmas letter.

Since Christmas 2007 we have travel from Florida to Memphis, Tennessee, Branson, Missouri, West Yellowstone , Montana, Florence ,Arizona and back to Flagler Beach Florida. We passed through 20 states since last December. We have met and made great friends and had wonderful experiences. seeing places like Graceland, Branson, Yellowstone National Park, Teton National Park, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Cedar Breakers, Las Vegas and neat places like West Yellowstone Montana and Jackson Hole Wyoming.

So all in all the Page's had a wonderful year and we look forward to what the New Year will bring.

So to all who read this I hope December will bring you lots of good memories and when Christmas arrives a Blessed Christmas.

Saturday's Hangout

Finn's Beach side Pub in Flagler Beach is our Saturday evening place. After Leigh gets out of work we head for Finn's. It is on the roof where you can seat out and watch the ocean and all the hot cars and bikes going by.

So while Paulie and Kathleen was here we invited them up there to enjoy the atmosphere and the good food and drink. So we had a fun time then headed over to the Destination Daytona Harley dealership to check out the bikes and Harley gear. We had a great evening visiting.

Visit from friends

Yesterday we had a visit from Chuck and Barb Tennant they are life long friends of Leigh and his sister Carol. It was so wonderful seeing them. We took them over to Palm Coast where Paulie, Carol's son has rented a condo and that is where Carol is staying.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch prepared by Kathleen ,Paulie's girlfriend. We visited for most of the afternoon . Then they had to return to Webster , where they are staying for the summer. We will visit them soon and I will bring my camera there. As I forgot it again. I must be getting senile. But it is so nice to see old friends from Vestal New York.

Guess who sang at the nursing Home?

Our favorite entertainer local Bobby Meeks from here in Florida was the entertainer and he got Leigh up to sing Abilene. So Mr Page got up in front of his family and the whole nursing home and sang. He did well. It was a nice day for the Page family and Grandma really enjoyed his day.

Today was truly a day to be Thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving to all our family and friends.

Thanksgiving day at the nursing home

Well, we had a great time at the nursing home with grandpa Page. The food was good and it was nice to have the Page family there. Leigh, his sister Carol, Paulie Carol's son and all of us spouses and grandpa wife were there to share Thanksgiving with him. You can see by the pictures he was really enjoying his day. And guess who the entertainment was?
