Nature Boat Tour out of Bar Harbor!

Today was one of the few sunny days since we have arrived so we took a bike ride to Bar Harbor. We decided on taking a nature tour boat ride. We saw mansion where such people as JP Morgan and the Pulitzer and lots of other famous people live. I saw the home where the old vampire soap Dark Shadows was made.

We saw bald eagles but it was hard getting shots of them. Seals and another Maine Lighthouse. I think this it was called Egg Nest Lighthouse. It was egg something anyhow. I guess the island the lighthouse is on is where the old shipping vessels and pirates would gather birds eggs to take with them on long voyages as they would last a long time. We saw lobster boats and tons of lobster traps.

We saw the passage of the 44 parallel where you can go 1000 500 miles and see nothing but ocean all the way to the North Pole.

We also learned that lobster can live 100 years and grow to be as much as 1000 lbs and you better not mess with those old big boys.

It was a nice day in Maine. There is just so much to see and places to go if only the sun will shine.
