Day 4 fun day at sea.

Day four was spent out on the deck sunning. And leigh won the Hairy Chest Contest and was the most popular guy on the ship. They showed the video of the contest all day long so everyone knew the Hairy chest guy. We just lounged in the sun and enjoyed the last full day of the cruise.

Karaoke Night on the ship!

Karaoke night on board the ship was really fun. Leigh sang and alot of really talented people did to. The ship have a great room/bar for it and lots of singers and lots of watchers. we really enjoyed ourselves stayed up to midnight and then went to a midnight buffet and to bed.

Day three of the cruise

Day three was Cozumel Mexico. To be honest I did not like Cozumel at all lots of shops with pushie sales people trying to get you to buy. So we only spent alittle time there then headed back to the ship and went in hot tub and sunned on the deck.

Day two of the cruise Key West

Day two of the cruise we got up and saw the sunrise. Ate breakfast with our friends and was off the boat by 8 AM walking up Duval Street in Key West. We walked the whole street to the southern most point of the USA which you walk from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico.

We stopped and shopped at Jimmy Buffet's Margarita Ville and several other shops along the way. Watched the wild roosters walk the town and visited with some of the local characters. Took pictures at the southern most point in USA and headed back.
It was a fun day.

The shipped left port for Cozumel Mexico at 2:30 in the afternoon. We napped and got ready for Captain's night on the ship where we dressed in our best and went to dinner. After dinner we went to a show and the seas started to get very rough. Watching people trying to walk was funny as you would have thought we were all drunk. The major show was cancelled because of the rough seas but there was a very good comedian and 2 singers.

After we went to our cabins where I slept with a bucket by the bed because I was so sick.

But until the rough seas day two was my favorite.

Key West-Cozumel Cruise

We got up at 4 am on Monday the 1st of March and waited for our friends Rosie and Al to pick us up. We then met the bus at the moose lodge at Ormond beach and by 7:15 we are on our way to Miami to catch the Carnival Imagination. We went through customs and was at the buffet by 1PM.

We checkout the ship and then went to the cabin to unpack and get ready for dinner. We went to bed early as it was a long day. Life is good on a cruise.

Preparing for another trip!

Well, I think we have survived one of the worst winters in Florida and to celebrate that we are preparing to go on our second cruise. This time with the Moose Lodge we are going on Carnival for 5 days and 4 nights. We will be bussed to Miami to board the Carnival Imagination. The first port of call will be key west Florida and on the Cozumel Mexico. This time we are going with a couple from New Milford Pennsylvania where we lived.

This time we knew certain things to do and not to do. So hopefully this will be less costly than last time. Well I have not updated you for awhile so i just wanted to touch base with you all.

Our winter here has been cold and we really have not done that much. Just work mostly. So this will be fun.

Florida's Cold Snap

Remember those beautiful plants I bought for the yard this is what they look like now. How sad.
That is what the extended cold snap did to my yard. Which was nothing compared to what it did to the fruit farmers ,the manatees, and wild birds and the fish. There were 1000's of fish floating in the canals dead and the smell was awful.. Over 100 manatees died and we don't know how many of their babies died and the exotic birds . Every one's plants look like this. Hope things get better, this has been a bad winter for Florida as I guess for the whole country.

Other than that so far this winter has flew by. I am working at friends cafe 2 days a week. leigh 4 days. We have a cruise with some friends coming up in March and a wedding to go to. My grandaughter is coming in june and my daughter in July. We are quite busy and the time it is a flying.
