Dad Music Room!
Gifts from our old House!
These are pictures and things that was in our country home in Pennsylvania. I had left them in our home for my daughter in law, because she had nothing for the walls when she bought our home. But she has her own taste and these things came off the walls and her stuff went up to have that house her home. But she did not throw them away and now we have a home she sent them to me. So now my house is a home with my stuff in it. Even through it is a Florida cottage near the beach it has the style of a country cottage with my decorations. Thank you Heather, we feel at home now.

Different kind of Bikers!
Leigh has already started a regiment of speed riding every morning then later on our one speeds we ride about 56 blocks. I have lost about 5 pounds doing this and as soon as I get a seat for my gear bike I will join Leigh with the speed riding.
We also have cut back on our food intake. When we head out to Finn's for our lunch we split one meal, and we both are starting to feel more healthier in just a coupe of weeks.
So the Harley man and his biker babe are slimming down.

Bed Races
One of the tings i like about Flagler Beach is their many events they have. They have a farmer's market every weekend, concerts in the park, and just special events throughout the year. This was one of their special events. An old fashion bed race. The chamber of Commerce put on this competitive special event and business of Flagler beach participated. This was the first year for the bed races so there was less than ten business that competed.
First they had the parade to shop of the beds, then the race itself, which by the way was not just racing. They had 3 stops on the way. One was to change shirts before they could go on. The second was they had to fill a cup with a ping pong ball with water from water guns , the third was catch a marshmallow in their mouths then to complete the race. The race was timed for all events and the bed with the shortest time overall won.
My favorite of course was Finns, our favorite place to eat and drink that over looks the ocean in downtown Flagler. The competition was really fun to watch although it was 90 degrees out and no shade to be found. I felt so sorry for the kids the cats. They were in full costume and I am sure they were dying of the heat.
It was really a fun day to watch the action then to head off to Finn's for some beverage and food.

New Art
Today was a fun day. Riding our bikes for 56 blocks along the beach, then hitting the farmers market where I picked up tomatoes, peppers and a fresh pineapple that they core for you. Then off to the thrift shops where I bought this trio of pictures and hung in our living room.
We then went home worked on the yard and had a nice lunch on the deck. Life is good in Florida!

Settling in!
We have really settled in here in Flagler Beach. We got the house looking great with my garage sale finds and I have found a few new one added since my last posting! Leigh Power washed down the deck and repainted the chairs that were rusted badly. We have opened a bank account, gotten our Driver Licenses here in Florida and we are working on register the car and Harley.
The registering of those is going to be very expensive as in Florida you have to pay a luxury tax for these things. My car is going to take $500.00 to register. and We are not sure about the Harley but we think maybe $300. So needless to say we have not done that yet. Insurance here on my car was about the same but the motorcycle was much higher because of the many accidents here in Florida!
I had a real problem with my mail forwarding place in South Dakota.
I called and asked them what I needed to do. They said before Oct 1 send them a cancellation notice and notify all our companies of our new address. I did this. On Sept 28 they took out a year's membership that was not due until Oct 1 and when I called to ask them to put back into my account they said not until I forwarded them proof I had transferred all my vehicles to Florida. I told them I was in progress of doing all that to please put my money back into my account. They said no not until I fax them the above proof.

So I wrote a comment about them to workamper news where lots of RVer's read and someone there forwarded what I wrote to them. They emailed me and said it was all a big mistake and they would put my money back into my account. That was on Sept 28 as of today Oct 1 I have not received the money back into my account. So I guess if they don't put it back I will have to contact the bank and dispute it.
But other than that little bit of trouble all is going well. We added new plants to the garden and we spend lots of time out on our deck eating breakfast lunch and supper. Watching the squirrels, birds and lizards. We have even seen deer and raccoons. It's almost like being in Pennsylvania but no bear and it is warm. LOL
We ride these neat bikes we bought at garage sale. We are up to 6 miles a day so far. And Leigh is going back to work at friend's our breakfast place where he worked last year. I didn't want him to work but it will only be 18 hours a week, 3 days a week. Right now with all the money we are putting out we could use it. Money for Finn's bud shootout. LOL
I just want all my Maine family and friends to know I miss them along with the rest of our family all over. Keep in touch and I will do my best to keep the blog up.
