The trip to Bangor Maine!

We left Pennsylvania early in the morning and it was suppose to be an easy trip to Bangor Maine. Well we hooked up our trusty Garmin and off we went. When we got into Albany the Garmin told us to go left at the split toward Albany but the sign to the Mass turnpike said go right. But i thought well we will follow the Garmin because maybe it knows better than me. well wrong move the Garmin took us through New York State into Vermont and through the whole
state of New Hampshire into Maine. We went about 300 miles out of our way. I think grandma Katherine must have possessed the Garmin because it took us the way I took her through all the new Endland states for her 80th birthday. She must have gotten bored up there in heaven and wanted me to see all of that again.

Well to make a long story short we did arrive in Bangor Maine at the Paul Bunyan Campground where we will be until October 15th.

When we arrived my daughter Theresa showed up to welcome us. The next day we had a nice cookout and camp fire and visited.

We have been here a week now. We clean bathrooms and I work in the office making reservations. It has been so great spending time with my family. My daughter Theresa and her daughter Ashley. We are growing so much closer as I haven't been able to spend much time with them.

The weather here has been rainy but we have gotten out. We found our breakfast place a little diner called Nicky. Tonight we went to supper there and their had an antique car show it was nice. Leigh really enjoyed seeing the cars. I did not have my camera but I will be prepared the next time.

Paul Bunyan Campground is a really nice campground and the owners are very nice. I think we will really enjoy working there. Life is good on the road and the Pages are well.

Mountain Goat Run in Syracuse New York!

Today, we joined our son Skip in Syracuse New York to run in the Mountain Goat Run. Our son the real runner ran in the 10 mile run and he finished the 10 miles in 80 minutes in the first 25 percent of the race.
We walked with his wife Kathy in the 3 K event. It was a fun day and we enjoyed sharing the day with Skip and Kathy.

Our visit with"The Page" side of family!

Since arriving in Pennsylvania we have been visiting with "The Page" side of our family. We have been having fun times with everyone. Eating great food cook by Kathy at Skip's house and Heather at Greg's house. Visiting with the grandchildren. Meeting little Hunter for the first time. We have just been enjoying ourselves. We will miss all our family when we leave here and head for Maine where we will spend time with daughter Theresa and grand-daughter Ashley.

Spending time with family!

We have been on the road in our RV since October of 2007, and we are loving our lifestyle. But we have been missing our family. So on our way to our next assignment we have visited family. First stop was Virginia, to see my son Sterling, my Aunt Doris and 2 cousins Mike and Doreen. Pictures in previous post. We are staying in Pennsylvania, now in Skip's yard my husband's oldest son, where we are visiting all of my husbands family. I took off in the car to visit my youngest daughter Joy, and had the most wonderful visit. I would have liked to stay longer there as I miss them so very much. But we had made plans and they had other plans so this time their visit was short. Our assignment is in Maine where my oldest daughter lives and her daughter is graduating . This will be great as I have not spent time in my older daughter for a real long time.
So being on the road is nice as we can visit all our families and not be intruding in their lives.

Day 2 Grafton West Virginia!

Today Joy took to Grafton West Virginia the birthplace of Mother's day! since we won't be together for Mother's day she thought it would be a great place to explore. So off we went. The road there was so scenic! The winding road in the country. The town was very historic. So she took lots of pictures. These are just a couple. Then we went to lunch at the Stagecoach for lunch. A small little place all the locals go to eat. The food was good and plentiful. And on Tuesday you get free dessert with your meal. So I had brown beans and corn bread since that was a West Virginia tradition food. Then my dessert was lemon pie.
We then went to a state park where there was a dam. Tagart State Park( I think that is how it is spelled.) It was very scenic and they have cool cabins to rent overlooking the lake, and houseboats to rent and you can go canoe or kayaking.
All in all it was a fun filled day and I learned where the Mother's Day celebration was started.

Enjoying West Virginia & Family! Day 1

Arrived safe and sound in West Virginia to Joy's home and got greet by Tillie. When I went to pet her, she jumped on me and proceeded to kiss me and them kyle and I put the rocks I bought him from all the states I visited in the grandma garden. Named that because grandma Bell provided the water feature and I provided the rocks and kyle put in the shells we gathered while vacationing and Duck, NC.
We then went out to eat in a fun Mexican restaurant, and then we walked off our meal on the rail walk. A wonderful first day together.

Doreen & Family

This is my cousin Doreen, Jessie, Jenna and David. Doreen and her father have always been the closest of all my cousin. her dad was like a brother to me because when we were growing up we were always together. Doreen I have been close to since she was a baby.
Well they took Leigh and I to dinner and they were the ones we spent our last night in Virginia with. Our time together this time was short but hopefully next time we will have more time.
This week has been wonderful spending time with family. As you get older family becomes more and more important. So the time i spent with sterling my son and his soon to be wife Laurie, and my great aunt Doris and my cousins Mike and Doreen and her family has meant so very much to me.
I love them all very much and hopefully we will all spend time together sometime in the future God willing.
